My passion lies in solving problems with creative strategies and tactics.

Problem-solving is the main thread that ties my different professional experiences together. My fascination with finding solutions started at a young age when I used to create my own inventions to solve common household problems. Fast forward a few (many) years and along the way I’ve put my problem-solving skills to use with positions in higher education marketing, agency-based marketing, and most recently higher education educational technology.

I earned my undergraduate degree from Champlain College in Burlington, VT. At Champlain, I studied Graphic Design and Digital Media as well as Marketing. My capstone project at Champlain centered around the creation of a social campaign to encourage people to share their memories as a way of creating awareness for early onset Alzheimer’s disease.

After working for a few years in marketing I realized that I loved the parts of my past positions where I got to work with people and find ways for technology to make their duties easier for them. That’s when I made the jump and decided to go back to school. My second master’s degree is in Professional Studies with concentrations in instructional technology, design, and community outreach from the School of Individualized Study at the Rochester Institute of Technology. My capstone project created a series of learning modules that aimed to inform community members on issues directly impacting their area. In order to create factual, engaging, and relevant modules I broke the project into three parts. The first part centered around fact-finding and involved meeting with fifteen different leaders of organizations in the community. The second phase consisted of a review, analysis, and summary of the interview content to fine-tune the content that would go into the modules. For the last phase, building and testing, I used Articulate 360 to create informative modules with gamification, video, and other engaging elements.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me watching the latest viral elephant video (I’m a big fan of elephants), crafting Dungeons & Dragons campaigns with my husband, walking my rescue pup, or perpetually doodling in the closest notebook.
