23 goals for 23

As a kid, I never dreamed about being 23. Most of my thoughts about the future ended after graduating from college and didn’t pick back up again until I was married with children. This in-between time of uncertainty and blurred vision is not something that a young “me” could ever have thought about. As I contemplate my last week as a 22-year-old, I’m realizing that I still don’t know if I can comprehend the idea of being done with my undergraduate degree and working full-time. What do I do next? What don’t I do next? How do I know what I’m doing is right? What could the future hold for me? With this in mind, I came up with 23 goals that I want to achieve (or at least try to achieve) from the time I turn 23 until my next birthday….

  1. Stay healthy and exercise
  2. Explore
  3. Take an electronics break
  4. Volunteer and help others
  5. Take more photos

  7. Make new friends
  8. Skate more
  9. Ask more questions
  10. Be outside more than inside (at least during the warmer months)
  11. Live without anxiety
  12. Take a social media break
  13. Live confidently
  14. Spend more time with friends
  15. Travel spontaneously

  16. Try a new food (or foods…)
  17. Make coffee instead of buying it
  18. Or better yet, make more smoothies
  19. Walk instead of drive
  20. Develop as a professional
  21. Go to sleep earlier
  22. Make awesome doodles and drawings

And of course…. number 23: blog more.

At the end of the day,  I’m excited to see what the future holds for me. With each of these goals, I’m hoping to start my 23rd birthday with a great perspective and focus on the future.
